Students who enrolled in Geometry will also be required to take the New York State Regents Common Core Geometry exam in June.
Homework Policy
Homework assignments are given and checked on a daily basis. Each homework will be scored on a scale of zero to two as follows:
2 = complete and all work shown
1 = partially complete; all work not shown
0 = unprepared/not done; obviously copied
At the end of the marking period the total number of assignments times 2 determines the maximum possible points a student can attain. The homework grade is determined by totaling the student's points and then dividing by the maximum possible points. For example, if there are 20 assignments then the maximum number of points is 20 x 2 = 40. Therefore, if a student has 32 out of 40 points their homework grade is 32/40 = 80.
*Note: Homework could be made up only when the answers are not posted in class. If answers are posted, you cannot hand in anything late.
**Parent will receive a phone call or email if you fail to complete homework in 3 consecutive
days.
Test Policy
Tests will be given at the end of each unit and will consist of questions similar to those discussed in class and previous assignments. Announcements of test dates are generally given a week in advance. It is the responsibility of the student to obtain any notes and assignments missed due to absence. If a student misses a test due to illness, it must be made up the day of the student's return. Students who are absent for an extended time must see me to arrange a make-up date.

Quiz Policy
Quizzes will be given in each unit and will consist of questions similar to those discussed during class and from homework assignments. Announcements of quiz dates will be given at least 2 days prior to the assessment. It is the responsibility of the student to obtain any notes and assignments missed due to absence. If a student misses a quiz due to illness, it must be made up the day of the student's return. In the case of an extended illness, arrangements must be made with the teacher to make-up the quiz.
